How I became Mr. Grade Inflation for the US is a true mystery to me.  Somehow I’ve managed to publish two papers on this topic as well as a bunch of op-eds, and have appeared on TV (CNN, ESPN et al.) and on radio (NPR and its affiliates, usually) as an “expert.”  Then there is my web site, gradeinflation.com. Every five years or so, I crunch the numbers on college grades across the US and report what I’ve found. It used to take about 600 hours to do this. The last two times were made much easier because of the amazing work of Chris Healy. Our last major update was on March 29, 2016.
